Spiritual
Growth
In addition to a varied curriculum, PCCA
strives to provide venues to foster individual spiritual
growth in each child. Their spiritual maturity, integrity,
character and personal confidence are develped through
specific leadership, mentoring, chapel programs, and activities.
Chapel: Students attend chapel weekly where Special speakers and groups are scheduled
who deliver presentations with relevant
topics to todays teens.
Class
Retreats: We kick off each school year
with class retreats. The time away from the school campus
provides an opportunity for individual spiritual growth
as well as fostering team buildingand untiy among each
class and total school body. Leadership of seniors is
fostered
and put in place at the retreats as they lead the underclassmen.
It is always
a time
of
special
memories
for each student. Spiritual
Emphasis Days & Activities: Once
a quarter there are planned spiritual emphasis days with
activities, motivating speakers, and small group
discussions to promote spiritual renewal and revival.
Memorable
Trips
In
addition to some of our long standing field trips that
include swimming with the manatees for Biology, PCCA
is presented with special opportunities each year to
travel for events. In December of 2006, the Eagle Vocal
Ensemble
flew to Washington, D.C. to
sing for the
National
Christmas
Pageant
of
Peace. PCCA was the only Florida school to be invited
to sing
for this annual event, which is held in front of
the White House, next to the National Christmas Tree.
One
of our most special trips is the Senior Trip. The purpose
of the trip is for Spiritual service and growth and experiencing
God's wonder and a celebration of their high school success.
Most recently, The senior class of 2007 attended their
last
day of school on May 16th and two days later took off
on
an
amazing adventure to Costa Rica. After arriving in San
Jose, their itinerary included a catamaran ride to the
sandy beaches of Tortuga Island and a trip to Fortuna
and Mt. Arenal, one of the world’s most active
volcanoes. While in the rainforest they hiked down to
a spectacular waterfall, soaked in the hot springs and
went horseback riding before a shopping stop in Sarchi.
Their trip included a visit to La Carpio, a Nicaraguan
community with tremendous physical and spiritual needs.
It was the trip of a lifetime.

Spiritual
Mud Day
Pictures
from a past event......Upper School had a successful
Spiritual Emphasis Day. which began the day with some
motivational speakers, had a barbeque lunch out on Crawford
field, and topped the day off with some muddy class competitions.
