Welcome to the PCCA da Vinci Center

The da Vinci Learning Center is a unique set of programs designed to meet the needs of exceptional learners. There is an additional cost for enrollment most of these programs, with the exception of Study Buddies.
HIGH FLYERS (1st-5th)
Students accepted into the da Vinci High Flyers (gifted) program have the opportunity to use their academic talents in a variety of ways. Each month a new unit of study will open up the students’ worlds and challenge them in various subject areas including math, science, and reading. The high flyers teacher will encourage students to explore new concepts and reach higher levels of thinking as they soar into the future.
LEO’S LEARNERS (1st-5th)
Students accepted into Leo’s Learners will have exciting opportunities to learn through effective small group instruction. The Leo teacher works closely with the classroom teacher to assist with comprehension and basic skill mastery. Small group instruction allows the Leo teachers to present content in various ways, and makes it possible for students to interact with the materials in the way that best fits how they learn.
LEARNING STRATEGIES (6th-12th)
This program, formerly called directed studies, is designed to equip students with strategies that enable them to be successful, independent learners. Qualified teachers in a small group environment will assist students with test preparation and with completing class work and projects in addition to helping them learn positive study habits. Students also benefit from the added communication that the learning strategies teachers provide between the school and parents.

DISCOVERY/SEARCH AND TEACH (K-8th)
Discovery is an intensive one on one therapy program for students with learning differences. This program focuses on strength-building techniques for the student’s deficit areas. Search and Teach is geared toward students in K-2nd grade. The search portion screens students for academic areas where they may encounter difficulties. Teach utilizes many techniques to target these weak areas and strengthen them before the student experiences frustration in the classroom.
